Media: Comic Response
Write a response after reading and discussing comics. Answer the following questions in your response.
What are comics? (Have a concrete definition)
What affordances does the medium possess? (What are comics able to do that other mediums can't)

Holocaust Literature
Reading
Students will read two books about the Holocaust. The books will either be written for an audience their age or younger. Students are expected to read these books while considering how they represent the Holocaust to their audience (young adults or children).
• Finish reading first book for November 13th
• Have second book read for November 20th
Responses
Students will write responses to the books they read. Students will follow the ministry-provided rubric to develop their responses. Students will discuss and compare how the books represent the Holocaust.
• Responses are due November 24th
Reviews
Students will be creating reviews based on their responses. The responses will be online to share with other students interested in reading about the Holocaust.
• Reviews are due December 8th
Essays
Students will be writing essays about how literature represents the Holocaust. Students will present their essays to their peers.
• Essays are due December 21st
• Reading of essays will occur December 21st

Journalism Test
You will have Thursday's journalism class to finish your hard news test article. If it is not completed by the end of the day then it is handed in at the beginning of class on Tuesday, November 10th.
